Northeast Pride: Lion's Share of Success

Northeast Pride Baseball - Hudson Sports Complex

We have been fortunate to build some amazing relationships in our first year and one that has been especially great is with Northeast Pride Baseball. Northeast Pride Baseball produces teams ranging from youth travel, U9-13, to college prep at U14, and their highly scouted U16-18 Nike Select & Nike Scout College Exposure teams. It's evident to us that these young ball players have their eyes set on the prize because they have done amazingly in the last month alone.

Founded in 2011 by owner & creator Joe Curreri, the Northeast Pride Baseball program has enjoyed amazing growth over the past few years and unrivaled recent success. Over the course of several seasons, the program has grown from a regional organization to a highly regarded national program. Joe and his staff have done a phenomenal job training and preparing youth baseball players so they can achieve and surpass their goals on the baseball diamond.

By providing valuable training regiments along with building relationships throughout the landscape of the game, Northeast Pride has become a respected program by big name colleges and MLB personnel and deservedly so. Since the winter of 2019, they have been training at Hudson Sports Complex, taking their practices indoors in the frigid cold months while also enjoying the outdoor turf under the sunny skies.

It has been a busy October for the entire Northeast Pride program...not only in our neck of the woods of the Hudson Valley, but across the entire eastern seaboard. They sent 4 teams consisting of nearly 70 players to the highest level college exposure events in the country.

About three weeks ago, the U13 squad, who consists of 9 Orange County players (several from Warwick) and 3 Pennsylvania Players, had a NYEB Wear Pink for Cancer tournament up in Newburgh. They beat the Mid Hudson Tigers in a nail bitter at 8-7 to win their first tournament in recent months. The following week, the same team went down to Allentown, PA and ended up winning the ECTB Columbus Day Bash tournament. Finally, just this past weekend, they battled there way to a third Championship game and what do you know...once again, they won the Columbus Day Tournament beating Santos 13-2 in Newburgh. At the end of the day, the U13 team has now won 14 games in a row and are tournament champs 3 times over!

Leading off October, they placed 2 teams in the Perfect Game Underclass WWBA World Championships down in Ft. Meyers, Florida. This event allows 200+ teams from across the country to compete in front of over 250 Division 1 college and professional scouts. The players enjoyed major league treatment as the games took place at Jet Blue Park, the Spring Training home of the Boston Red Sox as well as CenturyLink Sports Complex which is the home of the Minnesota Twins.

Northeast Pride also sent down a Freshman Team which boasted players in the 23/24 grad classes. They competed in the Perfect Game Freshman WWBA World Championships at Fitteam Ballpark of the Palm Beaches which is home to both the Washington Nationals and Houston Astros. Despite these players being younger than others, they were still able to show their talents in from of scouts from Power 5 Conference Division 1 schools including: Boston College, Clemson, NC State, St John’s, & more. This was a huge stage for players and a great start to the recruiting process.

Northeast Pride Scout Team concluded the 2019 season by winning a qualifying event in Staten Island going 5-0! They then made a ton of noise in the Perfect Game World Championships down in Jupiter, Florida.

Playing the best programs in the country and in beautiful venues like Roger Dean Stadium, home to the St Louis Cardinals & Miami Marlins, this is the highest level event in the country every year that brings 250 plus college scouts along with 500 plus MLB Scouts, executives, and agents.

Perfect Game World Championships - Northeast Pride Baseball

Northeast Pride ended up beating the Tri-State Arsenal National Team 5-2 in Game 1. Next, in astounding fashion, Northeast Pride "no hit" the Milwaukee Brewers Scout Team in Game 2. They ended up winning that game 7-2!

They team kept up their strong form at the plate winning their third game, 6-2 vs the Knights/Exposure Baseball team (top 30 in the country). Moving to Game 4, the Northeast Pride Scout Team was slated to play the MLB Breakthrough Series Team that was actually projected to win the pool prior to the tournament. This squad boasts top prospects from across the country on a MLB sponsored team managed by former NY Mets Manager, Jerry Manual.

After being down 6-0, the Pride came back to tie the game at 6 in the 4th inning. In the bottom of the 4th, MLB Breakthrough Series was able to add 2 runs for a 8-6 lead going to the top of the 5th. With the game being under a time limit, the 5th inning would be the last inning. Pride player, Luke Padian, came through with a huge 2 out bases loaded double to tie the game at 8! With a tie, Northeast Pride Scout Team would win the pool so things were coming down to the came Rutgers commit, Nick Feretic, to provide the team with the final 3 outs. His pitching was able to secure the Pride a tie and propelled the team to win the group to get into the playoffs!

Northeast Pride would fall in the playoffs by a score of 5-4 in extra innings, but the loss paled in comparison to the lasting impression the Scout Team made over the course of the tournament. Finishing up with a 3-1-1 record in the granddaddy event of them all, the Perfect Game World Championships, the team showed why the program has been the king of the jungle in recent weeks!

If you are looking to join this wonderful organization, you're in luck! We are hosting tryouts on Sunday, Oct. 20 as the team is looking for the next great talent.
