Winning isn't everything, but it sure feels great, especially when you can do it as a team! In case you missed the news, our semi-professional soccer club, the FSA PRO Foxes, won their Conference and Division in their very first season!
The team began their journey in late May and worked tirelessly to create a culture of excellence through dedication, teamwork, and trust. Over the course of the summer months, the squad was formed and put together by Christian Fuchs himself along with FSA PREMIER Program Director, Michael Holzer, and other FSA PRO staff members.
The team kicked off their 1st United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) season against REAL NY FC in early September. Christian Fuchs and family were in attendance on opening night in front of 300+ people. It was an exciting, but tough evening as the Foxes took the lead, but ended up losing 1-2.
As the season progressed, your Foxes got hot and did not lose another game the rest of the year! It was evident the team had gelled and were responding to the tasks at hand and the standards being set. In the 6 prior games that led up to this weekend's championship match, your Foxes scored 24 goals while only allowing 3 which included 4 clean sheets!
Saturday came upon us for a rematch that couldn't have been scripted any better. FSA PRO had the opportunity to win a championship and the team that stood in their way was the only squad to defeat them all year, REAL NY FC.
The Foxes played as a team, were aggressive, and were able to take advantage of some mistakes and even a red card that was drawn to REAL! With the game nearly 75% complete, Chris Rubio found the ball at his feet and blasted a beauty into the top left corner from 30 yards out. After that, the momentum was on FSA PRO's side and they coasted towards victory!
We would like to thank all the fans and season ticket holders, vendors, sponsors, and volunteers who helped make these games an exciting and family-friendly environment. With nearly 1,000 fans over the course of our home matches, we sincerely thank everyone for their support as we look forward to many more season of success. We don't call ourselves the "Home Of Champions" for nothing...congrats FSA PRO on an amazing season!
