A week after locking in their first ever win as a Club, the Foxes claimed their first away victory in commanding fashion! Let's recap yet another great performance by FSA PRO...
...After dominating play last week against Mass United FC here at HSC, your Foxes traveled up I-95 and brought the fight to the New Hampshire Bobcats. 16+ Foxes and staff traveled away together for the very first time looking to get three points. Despite being hundreds of miles from the Fox Den, the team was eager to bring the same energy to the pitch and knew they wanted to bring back the W for our local supporters!
After a couple hours of travel, the Foxes arrived and were ready to go from the very first whistle. The play was dominated by the Foxes with possession well in their favor over the course of the match, especially in the initial 30 minutes of play.
It's been great to see the improvements being made by all the players and especially the work being down in the midfield. In particular, a significant leader for the Foxes over the past two weeks has been Vieux “Papa” Mané. His presence in the midfield has been immense and it is no surprise that he put the away team up 1-0 just 15 minutes in. Not ten minutes later, another playmaker, Valentine di Lorenzo, added to the lead by finishing the ball in the 22nd minute. At the close of the first half, your Foxes were up 3-0 thanks to another goal by Ahmed Abdounia. The energy level remained high and the control of the game continued to be in the Foxes favor after another uplifting team talk by Coach Holzer at halftime.
Less than 20 minutes in, Alexis "Lex" Archilla was taken down in the box. A penalty was awarded. Lex felt a little uncomfortable after being tackled and knew for the betterment of the team he should allow someone else to finish the job...up stepped Papa. 4-0 by the 58th minute.
The game was all but over at this point, but your Foxes wanted to make sure they didn't get sloppy or take their foot off the gas. The ball was moving around nicely and purposefully. All players received significant amounts of minutes and we even saw some new names tally goals as well as assists.
Another vital member of the team early in our existence has been Chris Rubio. His vision and constant awareness was crucial in Saturday's match. His 2 assists and overall movement made a huge difference in the game. Throughout the second half, Rubio and others continued to put the pressure on the Bobcats and made sure to not let up.
By the time the final whistle blew, your Foxes put away 7 goals and allowed none. Coach Holzer noted, "I am delighted with the result and first ever away win. It was a one sided game...we controlled and possessed the ball for both halves."
Doing the math, your Foxes have allowed zero goals and finished 12 in the last two games! Coach Holzer went on to say, "We're excited to be on top of the conference and to host Krajisnik FC at home next Saturday. We are in great form as the leaders in the table with Krajisnik currently in third. We're hoping for a full house at Hudson Sports Complex."
This week's Player of the Match: “Papa” Mané. His two goals were just small reasons towards the Foxes' success on Saturday. His confidence and overall assertiveness within the midfield has been nothing short of amazing. He totally controlled the middle of the park for FSA PRO and set the tone for the entire game.
FSA PRO return to the training ground this week with the goal of continuing their great results by getting another home win at the Fox Den! Join us on Saturday, Sept. 28 for a 6PM kickoff at HSC! Tickets can be purchased here!
